My son asked to do a tandem skydive with a friend for his birthday. I've said no but I feel mean. What age would you let your child do a tandem skydive?

Oh! Vee, I LOVE that photo, & reasoning.
My Mother used to always say that to me when I was a child!

No! My teens are 15 and 13 and I wouldn't let them skydive. I don't think you should feel bad about it. Skydiving is an extreme sport and as such, there are risks associated with this. It's not like he's just asking to ride his skateboard! 18 seems like a good age to me...
I'm surprised that they even let anyone under 16 skydive.
Legally 12 with permission from guardian for tandem
Speak to the company that would be taking them and ask them what they recommend. Your son will want you to feel mean, so ignore that ;) But look into it further and find out how the company feels about it and if it's something they've done before.

My daughter is 16, I would let her go, but at 13 I'd need a whole lot more information before I decided.

I wouldn't.
Plain and simple
I wouldn't.
Not a chance in hell! They've got plenty of time to participate in extreme activities, 13 is way too young.
No way. If they want to do something that risky, they can wait till they're 18 thanks very much.
No .. My daughter wanted to do one at 16 and I said no. She had a huge temper tantrum at the time. I told her it was my job to make sure she lived until she was18, after that it's up to her. Needless to say she finally did it for her 22nd birthday
Absolutely not. Why would you feel mean? You are the parent who has fortunately made a very sensible decision.
when they can make the decision on their own then I would have no problem with it.

Negative to 13!
18, can then make own decision, stupid, or not.
