No. They are dirty and grow too big. Oh, and they are noisy as well.
Pigs are cleaner than dogs and smarter too, just because they are in a pen without choices, they must live with what they have.....

That's a Negative!

I have been around a lot of the human kind, and that is enough for meeeeeeeee!
No. I haven't the space for them and they would take too much looking after and be too expensive.
I dont think I could keep one. I cant pet an animal that I eat. Moreover, the noise and the mess they make would be too much. Not sure if they can be trained like you train a dog.
YES! YES! YES! I love pigs so much and they aren't dirty as always thought and they have intelligence plus! (Yes, trainable) I just LOVE piggies! If I had a pig I don't think I could eat pork again.

Meet Esther, the Wonder Pig. . . https://youtu.be/oKbiPbTeZ-c
She and her two dads are beyond wonderful. Also, Green Acres "Arnold" was five separate beautifully trained piggies.

Rice, I'm glad I'm not the only one who answered in the affirmative. ;-)

YES! I asked my husband if he would consider it as our yard is quite big, but he said the pig would ruin the yard. Dang it. They are really lovely animals...I don't know how I would go on the pork front though. I love bacon...

I would have had multiple pigs by now but I have had the misfortune to manage to live in dam catchment areas :(((( Tell your husband that if the pig thinks it is a dog, it won't ruin the yard. . .

Dang. I forgot about bacon!

If the pig thinks it's a dog? I have never heard that. But then, some dogs dig, and if my husband thinks of the pig as a dog then there is far less a chance he would consider it! Hahaha.
by Vee
You could always tell him the pig is looking for truffles. Hehee.

Happily, if a pig needed a home and I had the yard space I'd take it in.
I did as a kid I had the runt of litter that snuck under fence and came to house to eat dog food and he was my pet for 11 years.
Oh, I just LOVE that story!!! You lucky, lucky thing :-)))))))))))

I'm not likely to get one, but I like the idea. Apparently it's pretty similar to having a dog. They're quite intelligent and can be very affectionate. If you want to see something cute, look up Esther the Wonder Pig on YouTube.
Ah Rice beat me to it!
. . *high five* Jen. Esther and her people just warm my heart :-))

If I had the space I would and my husband would agree as he had many pigs growing up. He did cry tbough when his dad slaughtered his favourite one but as he said, food was scarce during the war and it was a necessity.
I've been requesting a pig for years, I'd love to have a little oinker following me around the backyard. I probably wouldn't let it inside, but I'd definitely have a pig in place of a dog
I wouldn't mind a dwarf pig if there was one, I think they are cute in their own way.
I would love to have a pet pig, however I don't think my two dogs would like it. Pigs are intelligent and can be trained like dogs. I once saw someone walking their pet pig on a lead near the local shops. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Until then I had no idea they could be trained!
I would if I lived on a farm, but where we live, doesn't have a fence around the property, so I'd have to decline owning a pig, offer thank you.

Not a 'normal' sized one, but the miniature ones are just gorgeous. And since they can be trained just as well as a dog, why not?
