I don't often buy things that are advertised repeatedly on television as they annoy me, however I thought this old advertisement, really cute!

At 10 cents, I cannot say how old it is but it is a gorgeous ad and I would buy if all our ads were like this.

I agree Finy, this ad is gorgeous - an art form in itself really!

As a collector of antique and old books and publications,I see many of these truly wonderful ads. There was no TV advertising back then so the work which went into the printed ads was stunning,and/or clever beyond what we see today with all the computerised help which agencies use in every aspect of design. All the artwork in this beautiful old ad is hand done by a very talented artist and the copy has been written to appeal to mainly yound ladies who are about to start their own families and will be interested to see what great value and results can be had from the product being described.People DID actually buy products from what they perceived about them in the printed ads back then,so the ads were fabulous. I would definitely have been drawn to this soap by the attraction of this ad if I was alive when it was in print!

No - I don't like bars of soap

This is interesting. I love antiques. It makes me want to see what the soap would smell like today.

I LOVE the look of the add, but sadly I can't quite make out the words the read it.

'the'....should be...'to'.

LOL just proves even with my reading glasses on! I still can't see what I am even writing.

Oh! jonaj, you need to revisit Specsavers! Lol!

Lovely, lol. I don't buy Palmolive, and I don't pay much attention to ads. Although it's lovely, I can barely imagine an ad like this being used today. I don't believe people would pay attention to it because it requires too much focus and time to read.

Don't like it. Buy CB, in Lavender, Pears, or Country Life.

The ad's old fashioned, of course, & women in that era would believe, whereas now we 'challenge' adverts, especially TV ones'!
Wouldn't buy just based on an ad. However, when I was a child my mum used to buy palmolive soap - don't know if the ads had any influence on her though, probably more economics!
Nope. Wouldn't buy it. My mother taught me never to put soap on my face. Only use water to wash it and moisturizer daily with witch hazel to cleanse. I still have younger people asking why I have no wrinkles and what do I use on my face.
