With parking sometimes being very expensive, will you walk further to avoid paying for parking, or do you just park closest regardless?

I generally will not walk further due to a back problem.

I don't mind paying for parking, but what I do object to is some of the outrageously expensive charges that some places ask.

One such is at the Gharles Gardiner Hospital in Perth where I have to go regularly, and I find that having to pay up to $10 because a doctor is running late is just ridiculous.

In that instance I could not park anywhere and walk anyway as there is just nowhere to park around this large hospital.

Sometimes if it is not a long walk, I do avoid paying, but that is purely out of principal as I object to having to pay if I shop at a shopping centre!

Agree with you Finy on the hospital parking. The rates went up again so now its a minimum of $10.00 to park at Westmead hospital in the western suburbs of Sydney. There is limited free disabled parking outside the dental hospital here, but unless you arrive around 7.00 a.m for a much later appointment, you can forget about it. I drive a few suburbs away from home and park in a street near the T-way and use my Opal card to get to the bus stop outside the hospital so it only costs me $2.50 for a return bus trip, so I save heaps because as you say, the doctor/dentist invariably runs late.

Would prefer not to....

The one thing I don't like to pay for is parking so I will try and go places where I don't have to pay for parking. There are times when I have had no choice and have paid more than $20 for parking

In Sydney YES!!! Here, parking isn't that expensive so sometimes we just pay.
No way.

I have a bad leg now, so trick it!
I'm paying.
My poor legs have done a lot of klm's in my
lifetime, and they need a rest.
I certainly would. I don't mind a walk and frequently walk large distances if I visit the city (Melbourne) as parking in the CBD is too expensive.
No. I have a bunch of health problems that make walking tricky. If I can't park easily and close to where I'm going, then I either have my husband drop me off, get public transport or if that doesn't go close enough then a taxi. I'm lucky to be well off enough not to worry about parking charges, which is fortunate as I need all my worry for my health :)
I try and park as close as I can but if I dont it doesn't worry me
Definitely paring in Adelaide is expensive!
We don't pay for parking, we just park in free hourly parking, e.g. Westfield's, & from there we go to whenever we have to go to, & get back before the 3hrs is up. We've never parked for longer than our 3hr hours. Or we catch a bus & a train to where going too.
