The Biennale of Sydney is a regular event on the art calendar in Sydney. Held every 2 years, the event usually lasts months, and yet you can still manage to miss it.

Will you go this year?

And if you do, will you visit every location? The festival encompasses Cockatoo Island (where the majority of works are located), The Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) levels 1 and 3, The Art Gallery of NSW (AGNSW), and for the first time this year, Carriageworks.

Entry is free, however online bookings for the Biennale Ferry to Cockatoo Island are essential. The return fare is $7; children under 16 travel for free, but a valid ticket is still required. You can also travel to Cockatoo Island via regular Harbour City Ferries services or by water taxi.

Distance doesn't mean you have to miss out - there will be so many videos on Youtube in the next few months, and you can even subscribe to the Biennale channel and watch their latest video here.

I would Love too!
Will have to see with work and how this year is shaping-up.
Sure hope I can make it.
Love art !
Hope you can! If you have to pick one location, the Museum of Contemporary Art is probably the most accessible location due to being so close to Circular Quay Station.

I have no idea what this festival is, but the picture looks really interesting. What is it all about?
The Biennale of Sydney aims to showcase the contemporary art scene globally as well as locally. It's the longest art event on the calendar as it is held from March 21 to June 9 2014.

Cool. Is the skeleton in the picture part of a short film? I see a guy with a camera in the background.
The skeleton is actually part of an interactive artwork which requires the audience to participate and use 13 pieces of gym equipment! The camera man was just filming on the day I was there.

That sounds interesting.
It sounds like it would be interesting. I wish they would say what it is about though.
I wish I could, but since I live in Western Australia I don't think that it's too likely.
True true, however the Adelaide Biennial is closer to you and runs from Saturday 1 March to Sunday 11 May 2014. More info here.
