Absolutely!!! I always have two calendars in the house. One has all the day to day appointments on it, and the other is mainly for looking good. It is usually a calendar with pictures of art, nature or gardens. It is used mainly so we know the day and date. The other is put in the kitchen, where all the invites and appointments go. It looks like a bit of a mess most of the time, but it serves its purpose.
I keep a picture 1 on the kitchen wall, which I buy from a bargain shop each July/August. This (2017) Jan/Feb, however, I was given 3 of the same 2001 calendars, with Sydney (Au) pictures on them, & these will match 2018 dates. How handy is that? I'll give the other 2, to friends if they'd like them, or cut them up for colleges! Some years I'll buy 1 too early later in the year, forget I've bought it, then buy another 1, so the spare 1 I'll keep in my bedroom, but not on the wall, & then also use for it colleges! Last years Xmas cards were from made a large a flower on each page, 2016 calendar. My husband has a free 1 from our local canoe hire cafe, but he never writes on it. I also use a little diary (free from the Blood Bank (every Dec) in my handbag, every day, with appointments & what I've done that day. I also use my laptop diary every day as well, but I haven't learnt how to use my mobile phone diary, but I don't need to anyway. I never see anyone 1 else scribbling away in their handbag diaries in waiting rooms or on my bus or train!
Like you Miro, I get enormous enjoyment from being able to use lovely old calendars from years which have had the same day/dates as the current one.It can be such a huge amount of fun, and seeing the images from all those years ago can bring some delightful memories! Diaries such as the ones I have bought, are actually like lovely books and many of the ones which I have, are now extremely collectable and also are fetching good money if we wish to sell them!! I always have little notebooks with a calendar printed on the cover, which come from my chemist each year! These are VERY useful, and I am now lost without one of these in my bag! Like you, I also love to do collage and crafty stuff with my old used calendars and diaries.
Yes, yes, yes! I LOVE buying a new diary/calendar each year. However, I think I love the choosing, purchasing and filling out all of my details in it more than actually using the calendar for the rest of the year.
