Traditionally men have been saying the magic words (I love u) to women, men making the first move. But times are changing and in today’s era what are your thoughts on who should make the first move?

More woman are asking/making the move, yet the traditional stereotype that "the man must make the first move" is not out of fashion just yet.
I feel that there is no place for the perception that men should always make the first move. If you feel that he is the one and you truly love him then there is no reason to get cold feet in confessing your love. If we can do everything today just like a guy, we can certainly make the first move in love.
I hope and really believe Men will be the one to say those magic words.
Reason being:

Women need to Know...a man really really wants to marry her!

I made the huge mistake of asking 37 years ago, and he being a gentleman at the time...and also for other reasons...said o.k.!

Two years later, the cracks started to show, 9 years later we were no longer married....I saw how unhappy we were, and called it a day.

He left no time at all to find his new wife.....like straight away, and they have been happy ever since.(I'm happy too now) :)
Men should make the first move in the majority of cases. Call me a traditionalist.
It probably shouldn't matter in today's society. Mind you, if a man compliments a woman or declares his affections to someone he is associated with through work, he is more likely to be accused of harassment than a woman doing the same thing, so I guess it depends on the context...

Having said that, I'm a bit of a traditionalist myself.
