Upbeat music that you can dance to cheers me up. If it is lively, then it will make me feel happier. For example, in the kitchen, I have a dancing Elvis dog that sings 'Hound Dog', and I always feel brighter after playing it. I also like the songs by T-rex, and pop songs of the sixties.
Music from musicals - like Hakuna Matata from The Lion King, or My Favourite Things from The Sound of Music.
I love a show tune!
Disco. It's all about dancing and feeling good.
RnB and pop music always helps cheer me up. Dance music is great too. Try Britney Spears music to make you feel upbeat, she may have gone totally weirdo but her music sure has some funky beats and tunes.
Crazy songs of Jack Black .. like the Pick of destiny.. u gotta be crazy to build lyrics like these

Pigeon John - The Bomb - you can't sing along and clap like that and not feel good at the end...
I need something upbeat like dance - especially early in the mornings on the train commute.
I'm finding 2CH in Sydney is keeping me in a great mood. I recently listened to it at a friend's place. It was on in the background. Great songs from when I was growing up so I've been listening for about a year or so now. Loving it!!
Old stuff from the 70's :)
Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica - great songs, great artists, and you can sing with them
Music that I used to listen to when I was a teenager. It makes me feel upbeat and I have memories associated with it too, so thinking about fun times is great.
I've managed to make 'Gold' by Spandau Ballet the go-to cheer-up song for all of my family. It's so over-the-top dramatic, so seriously 80s, that it's impossible not to sing along like an 80s superstar. And that is seriously cheering.
My special ed students introduced me to Queen in the 'nineties. The band had completely passed me by as I was probably busy raising a family in their heyday. Playing their music full bore gets me through the most mundane of household tasks.
Irish, country, gospel, rock n roll
Greenday mostly. My Chemical Romance.. 30 Seconds to Mars.. Maybe Good Charlotte.
80's like dragon rain love it
Certain bands and albums will cheer me up every time. The first two Counting Crows albums, the first John Mayer album, most Incubus or Mathew Good's Avalanche will all make me smile on a bad day.
Gospel music always makes me feel better, especially the old hymns
The song Happy. Don't know who sings it but I love it.
Flamenco Guitar, any music from 1956-1964, Light Classical, be it 'instrumental' or 'song', Cuban Music ie BVSC.
