I find this a difficult question, even though I asked it!

Hate is a very strong emotion, but then again love can also be very strong.

I have read that they are very close and have been in a situation where the love has quickly turned to hate or bad resentment, so perhaps they ARE close.

These can truly be TOO close for comfort .They are both equally strong, but I fear that genuine hate is way more dangerous.
I don't think they can be measured really. It all depends on the situation you're in at the time.
I think love is stronger because you can feel love for a very long time, but hate tends to fizzle out after a bit.
I do think that there is a fine line between love and hate - I don't know which is stronger. I would like to think that love is stronger!

HATE hands down ..
Love can be strong, but I believe it's easier to hate, and hate well.

On the surface it would seem Hate is the stronger.
In my opinion...it is the weaker.
Hate takes a great deal of effort and emotion.
It needs to be fed constantly, to be viable.

Hate is a monster all of it's own, and without fuel it soon runs out of steam.

Love is the total opposite, it can remain for a lifetime...I'm just glad it's is not the other way around, because we all would be long gone and dead.

jonaj, I have to challenge your perception of love. If it isn't fed, it too can die...I suppose that is one of the reasons so many marriages end it divorce. Perhaps, though, this counts only for romantic love. I believe a parent's love for their child lasts forever.

I have love for those close to me gone now, like my best friend 6 months ago....it is a love that can not die, yet is not fed, because she is gone...I mean REAL Love, one that overcomes in good and bad. :)

Sadly I think HATE as their are so many atrocious violent acts both in the home and on the streets with One punch acts and knifing's.I can't image they are linked closely together.
Bring back the 60's and "Love ins".
