A place I grew up at and had the best time of my life.
Coogee Beach NSW.
If I had half a million dollars I would be back there
in 1 day! packed and ready....So many amazing memories. :)
I dont think you could buy anything anymore there for half a million Jonaj!
I used to also live near there when it was slightly slummy -I was in Kingsford, and then Centennial Park but we went to Bondi swimming mostly
1/2 a mill will get me a unit, and that's about it.
The house I use to live in is over 2 million. :(
Alice Springs - it's hot, but cool. In a cool way. I love that town, I have family there, and would do anything to move and live up there.
Xarah -it is so interesting how we are all so different -I wouldnt go to Alice Springs if you paid me.......lucky we are all different!
I wouldn't have even imagined visiting Alice Springs if it weren't for my partner, but I am so happy I did. It is my place of peace and calmness.
Alice Springs is a marvellous town to go to, as it leads to many different National Parks!
Has a great Art Gallery & I ate the best dozen natural oysters I've ever had, there!
Go figure!
Both times to Alice have arrived by train, firstly the 'Old Ghan' then, the 'New Ghan', both fabulous journeys'!
I am amazed that most of these answers are mainly in Australia and a lot are where your home is or with there is peace and Quiet I was expecting places overseas it,says a lot how we want to get away from stress and the hustle Fazee
Australia is in my opinion best place to live hands down...
Hayman Island, GBR, East Coast of Australia.
Have been there several times. Just love it.
First time there when I was 9! Had such a fabulous time on that trip, I just keep going back, as it has fabulous memories' for me!
THAT will never stop!
Donjo, that OLD Chan! Wasn't it slow? 20ks an hour! How did you enjoy Oodnadatta? Did you have time to visit the museum, & have lunch at the Pink Roadhouse? My mother, 3yr old daughter & I flew to Alice Springs, then travelled on the Chan.
Ops! Sorry...Ghan NOT Chan, of cause!!!
No, miro-, we only had a 'pit stop' there to take on water, supplies, & mail.
Might've taken on more cars & passengers', too.
As our train was the first in 4 months', due flooding, it was pretty full.
Definitely my home!!! I love being with my dogs, whether sitting and reading,or out in my garden which just surprises me every day with its beauty and amazing critters asb ell as gorgeous plants!!
Home on Bribie Island.
Farley
Farley, Were you living on Bribie Island when Ian Fairweather lived there? I remember my artist father visiting him there, back in '60's. Ian was very much a recluse. Maybe there's a museum for him there?
Farle/y, How long have you lived there? Could you please answer my question I sent you?
It used to be Paris & NYC, now it's on any cruise ANYWHERE 14 days or longer, on a non P&O cruise! Preferably, a Sydney (AU) return! OR...in Melbourne, visiting a daughter, & our grand-daughters, (from the other daughter.)
