Do you do all your grocery shopping at Coles or Woollies? Or do you support local farmers, producers or small businesses?

I do the majority of my shop at Coles with some meat bought from a local butcher. I have some friends who are very anti Coles and Woolies and do all of their shopping at IGA or independent grocery stores. I do understand their reasons for this, however I need to make every dollar count and I find Coles good value for money.
I try to give Coles and Woollies as little of my money as possible! I buy fruit and veg from a local fruit shop, Scenic Rim milk and meat from local butcher. Of course, there are some things you just need Coles or Woollies for! And of course, budget plays a big part in where you shop.
Being gluten free I shop in a large variety of places, even online for a lot of stuff.
Where I live, there is one very overpriced local grocer 10 minutes away, and three decent grocers a half hour drive away, and one last excellently priced grocer an hour drive away. I make the one hour trip every couple of weeks to stock up on staple items and buy my produce at the three grocers a half hour drive away as I pass by there for work often.
That seems to be a great way to shop, otherwise your just working to pay for food. :)

That exactly it, not to mention that the cheapest grocers have the freshest produce and the best selection, it really makes it a no-brainer.
I have a very nice ' Coles' near me.
So that's the place...Woolies for other things once in a while.
90% mainly at 'Coles'....Plus, they have now some
really good specials.I get a bit sick and tired of going all over
just to get shopping. It's a time waster, and petrol too.

Coles, Aldi, local fruits and vegetable shop and Halal butcher. Also random places if I find good bargains.
We make every effort to support local farmers - the local markets are great, and we buy roadside free range eggs and honey using the old honesty system.

That's the way to go Lucy!
I prefer independent grocers as I believe that monopolies are not healthy.
I totally agree, Shelley!
coles and woolies are both close by within the same shopping centre
shop at either one depends on what I want to buy. they differ in that they do not always carry a full range of goods in some brands so I shop in the one that I know has what I want. makes it hard as sometime I shop at coles other times at woolies

what about aldi Milk from aldi always stays fresh, the milk from coles and Wollies goes off after a day or two long before its expiry date.

Buying groceries at Woolies suits me. I'm not 'going out of my way' as groceries' are a 'mandatory' item, like petrol.
And my QF FF points just keep increasing! Yay!
