Just 3 days ago, (in July 2015). I met a primary
school friend for lunch in Kiama, (which is a 2 hr train trip for me!) We both had the fish & chip meal, & it tuned out to be $5.00 cheaper because we were Seniors! We didn’t even know the cafe had a seniors deal!
3 days ago we met a couple of Canadian friends for lunch at Manly, NSW. They visit their daughter, son-in-law & 3 year old grandson, so we'll be having lunch with them again in August
or September. We always go to the Ivanhoe Hotel. The last 2 times we've sat out on the verandah, overlooking the 'plaza' I had the salt & pepper squid with chips, & my husband had a pizza. After lunch we usually have a long walk before buying a pack of 4 Aldi ice creams, & then going home. This time, instead of our usual walk, we went to a kids shop that was closing down to-day, & bought a whole lot of toys for 1/2 price!
I've just found this question again, & we ate at the cafe in the S.H.Ervin Gallery, in Sydney after an exhibition of Margaret Olley's, 3 days ago. In 2 days I'm supposed to be meeting a friend for lunch at Kiama, (if it doesn't rain) then 3 days later, breakfast at the restaurant, which is a 5 minute walk from where I live with a friend, & 4 of her friends. The following day I'm due to have brunch at a friends house. It's wonderful, when I don't have to cook!
I've just found the question again, while visiting our daughter & her partner in Melbourne Vic, where we have been for the past week, so yes, for the last 7 nights we've had wonderful dinners cooked by the both of them! And next Monday is my other 1/2's birthday, so I'm hoping I can take them all OUT for dinner!
