When you find yourself in an argument, would you rather leave and resolve it when you are calmer, or would you like to solve it straight away in the heat of the moment?

I generally want to settle it straight away however, I often don't think that when I am upset, I really should take a step back, and think about it before arguing while angry.

This would have better results than arguing in anger!

It depends who the argument is with. If it's easily resolved au the time, great but sometimes it's better for me to walk away and calm down, then address the problem.
I try to settle it straight away with the person, am not aways successful though. Also it depends on the situation....

Try and resolve it at the time - but that doesn't always happen

I find it very hard to have a full blown argument these days.
It can happen, but 95% of the time, I will walk away.People tend to say the wrong things when quite upset.
Sometimes, if we are not careful, that can hurt for a long time.
As I get older 'something stops me'....I have to admit, and I am forever grateful.
There is no going back once the wrong thing is said, it is out there in the universe.
There is always time later to fix a problem, not in the heat of it all.Walk away..

If the subject is one very important to me,I will simply say 'let's just agree to disagree on this ,okay?' I HATE arguing at any time, but sometimes there is know way I will be able to just agree with someone simply to keep them happy. I feel physically ill if I get into a loud or serious argument, and have always been this way.I have recently been in an enormous and hideous argument with my adult son who I love more than anything. We NEVER argue in such a manner, and I am still sick over it after several days have passed.....
Just gotta settle it. Otherwise I can't settle me.
