When was the last time you did something for the first time?

Last weekend was my last first. I went to my first fiction writing retreat! I've been working on my second book for a while now and I really wanted some guidance. The retreat was led by a veteran writer who is also the creative writing professor at the University of British Columbia. It was an amazing experience. I met some wonderful, like-minded people and I learned a ton! It may have been my first writer's retreat, but it certainly won't be my last.

I love those writers retreats. I'm a bit late for NaNoWriMo now. Leaving it for next year. The 3 Day Novel Contest was an experience and a half last year. Good luck with it :) Just had a writers retreat recently, where I got a ton of articles written for HubGarden in 2 days. A chance to re-connect with my writing, seeming as though I am not a writer anyone, yet I still work as a freelancer in the media. Good job again :)

I did something for the first time today (I submitted my first Hub Garden article for approval, yea!) Life is much more interesting if it is full of 'firsts' so I try to make it a common practice (within reason) :)

One that comes to mind that I loved was..... I just designed my garden.
I got sick and tired of mowing the lawn,so went with a garden that needs little help.
I love to look at it.... all green and pretty.
People who come by say it looks really nice, and that is very encouraging
It was a lot of hard work, and is about 9 metres long.
Less time to mow, makes me happy too. :)

I went camping with my family for the first time a few months ago. Be a good idea to write down a bunch of ideas that I have not done yet and do then!

Never really thought about it, but I think do something for the first time every day without consciously thinking that this is the first time doing it. It doesn't have to be something grand and over the top, just mundane things. I guess every new day is a "new time" in your life.

I have had a few 'firsts' recently. My biggest would be publishing all four of my books in a month - back in September 2013. I have not looked back :)
Competing in a writing marathon 12 months earlier was a real first. Painful, yet a first :)

Believe it or not, I had home made lemonade for the first time. Not sure if I would have that all the time, but it was definitely different than what I expected!

Today I visited Ashfield RSL Club for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed the buffet lunch, maybe enjoyed it too much!

Not that big, but I cooked play dough for the first time today. It was great, kept the kids busy creating models for hours.

ITS BEEN ALMOST 2 MONTHS THAT IM IN AUSTRALIA.ITS MY FIRST TIME THAT I HAVE DRIVED A CAR WITH THE WHEEL ON THE RIGHT AND GOING ON THE OPPOSIT DIRECTION.THE MOST FUNNY PART WAS THAT I HAD TO PUT THE PETROL IN MY CAR ALL BY MY SELF AND GOING OUT TO PAY FOR IT.

Today I did something for the first time - I kissed a stranger. I work in Aged Care and we had some local school children sing Christmas Carols today. One of the residents asked for a kiss so I gave her one....
