Do you tend to go with the latest trends in colours or do you have your own taste that you usually stick to?

To be honest, experience has shown me that white is the way to go with wall colours. I have gone all out in the past with fashion colours that looked great "on paper" and even in a small painted area in the room, but really, for me, white is timeless and it goes with everything. Now I just agonise over the perfect shade of white for the room!
I love the idea of feature walls, particularly in a quite neutral interior. My interior is all white with a latte coloured feature wall and an ultramarine feature wall. Stick to colours which don't tend to date and you can't go wrong.
We don't do a lot of redecorating, but I tend to stick to soft yet warm, earthy colours. When we built our home I wanted to keep everything, including the colour scheme, as natural as possible, so we used organic, clay-based paints in various shades of honey-beige and cream and teamed that with natural bamboo flooring and ocean blue.

I think following trends, whether in fashion or home décor, is a big mistake, as by doing so we compromise our own individuality and self-expression. Popular trends also go out of fashion very quickly, which can be expensive in a big investment like home décor.
I love the 'Hamptons Look', so my Lounge room is done in about 2 shades of white, furniture is white, and it looks very light.
I don't use colour.... this new look, gets people saying, ''wow very nice''.
Love it myself of course, so for me colour is really kept very neutral.
Taste is a bad enemy of art. Be creative, have fun and find your own trends
Shades of blue- for the ombre effect.
I usually know what I want and the colours I like and tend to stick with those.
