What's your favourite kind of winter getaway?

Am going on one this weekend actually! A country cottage, small town, wood fire. Intend to spend half the time reading some books and the other half may involve an easy walk or two

I have years ago just gone to see family in America.

But! i stopped, due to winter lasting a few months and relatives not so long?

I now enjoy home, hot soup and the heater on, and a bit of t.v......Bliss.

Really bad time of the year to go there, isn't it. Like Tasmania, would never go there over Winter, when there are so many nicer times to go there. Spring comes to mind

You are so right. It snowed on the mountains and the wind that came down was like frozen razor blades.

Anywhere! I love the snow, but a cosy country cottage with a big log fire is nice too...and I always love visiting the tropics when it's winter in Australia.

A cruise! But having written that, only 1 or 2 of our cruises have been during the winter months. We just go when we find 1 we like. Apart of that, & going to the movies on a Sunday, close to where we live, I love nothing more hanging out at home, in my pj's! As there's only 2 of us in the house. my husband doesn't mind, & I do change for dinner!

I would definitely prefer to go somewhere warm like Queensland, to getaway from the cold weather . Even a few days away from the cold would be nice. I don't usually like going away over winter. I tend to hibernate. If funds allowed I would go somewhere warm

I dont like winter getaways! I hate the cold so go to warm places in winter.

Used to enjoy going camping in National Parks, where leisurely, long Bushwalks could be taken.

Cooking, & sitting by the campfire was special!

Loved going where horse-riding, & fishing could be done, also.
