Well my great great aunt used a pseudonym. She wrote the novel: Story of an African Farm. Her name was Olivia. Her writers name was Oliver Schreiner. And in those days - women were not allowed to write. I guess I would follow in her footsteps and do something like: Daisy (my grandmother's name) Island (because we all are little islands in this world) ;)
I probably wouldn't have a pseudonym, but if I did it would be Friday Adams. I was born on a Friday, Adams was my grandmother's maiden name, and it reminds me of Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family.
I've been using Amelia Oregano for a while now. 'Oregano' resonates with me because of my Italian family heritage, and also because it is the best herb to put on a potato pizza!
I have stuck with my maiden name as my pseudonym. I was first published when I was single but I chose to keep my maiden name because it was mine and not something I shared with my husband, just as my writing is an expression of me, something I can be selfish about and share at the same time.
