What would you present to your significant other for your 2-year anniversary?

by Xarah (follow)
Write because you want to, not because you have to.

What are some good things you can do/gift to your significant other to celebrate having spent 2 beautiful years together?

It is very hard...not knowing that person, with likes and dislikes.
For a male(I am guessing that is who you may be asking for?).
A gift that is not too over the top.2 years is great, but no a milestone yet.
I wouldn't go all out, you will have years to do that.
Something that does go down well is writing your own 'love tickets'.e.g. You wash their car for a month,I know I love that kind of thing. It is also a showing of true love.
As I say, it is too hard not knowing any facts really to say....a lot.

I don't see why a second anniversary is any different to a first or a third? I thought the special celebrations started at 10th or is it 20th -that is a milestone.

I always found it difficult to buy a present for a man yet for a woman I would think it is far easier.

I don't think two years is a particular milestone (as apposed to 1st anniversary, 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, etc), so I think something simple like flowers and a meal out is fine. Not everyone celebrates wedding anniversaries at all.
I disagree with those who are saying that two years is not a milestone. I don't mean to be facetious but, in today's day and age, I think it has to be. I also think it depends entirely on the person for which you a buying. I like to look on Etsy or Madeit. They always have interesting things on sale. Simply type in a topic or area of interest and that should give you some ideas. Good luck.

Thanks, Vee!!! finally, I thought I was the only one who made a big deal of such milestones in my relationship. I think it's a great way to celebrate the love between two people - it is so important to observe every milestone because it keeps the two people involved motivated and conscious of the blossoming love.

Agreed Xarah. Did you end up finding something?

Aha - I wanted to make him a mixtape, but ended up buying him chocolates, an iPod shuffle and put songs on there instead - he doesn't use iTunes (is against it haha), so it kinda works as a mixtape :-) And also, we went day sailing - it was such a beautiful way to spend / celebrate the day! xo

That's so sweet. It sounds like you two had a wonderful day! :)

I'll get back to you in 18 months if we're still together...
A night out at a concert or to dinner I think. Experiences are better than objects as gifts because people usually buy what they want for themselves.
I gifted a mobile phone to my husband on our 2nd anniversary
I think that the best give you can give to anyone is YOU. Reaffirm for your loved one all the things that attracted you to them, the things that you appreciate about them, acknowledge the growth you have had as a couple, the challenges you have overcome. Depending on your partner this could be done in a letter, through cooking their favourite meal, organising their favourite activity, a walk on the beach or planting a tree, or buying a goat for a village. The activity isn't important you being present and loving each other is the important part. It is less about "DO" and more about "BE"
I actually enjoy making scrapbooks for anniversaries or valentines.
It could be a themed one - love quotes or poetry, a date log, shared memories or food diary... so long as you include photos that you both took together (or photos of that place/activity etc), along with the dates/location.
It makes a really great nostalgic gift for years down the road too.
I read the other replies and oops, I'm a hopeless romantic huh.
