Well, one thing I would NOT do is have a cold shower as it is hard enough getting out of a hot shower and no way would I get IN one!

I would instantly call my friend, who is a plumber and ask him to call round urgent, and then get a new one if it was not worth fixing....still would probably be a day or two till I had hot water again -appliances I have wouldnt matter as they heat their own water.

I have a cold shower every morning! I love them!!
I would, quite simply, COPE!!!! I know I would manage as this has happened to me in the not too distant past! Living in the tropics I do not need really hot water anyway, and my showers are never super-hot,as I prefer them just slightly warmer than body temp. As for the other reasons we have hot water services,I did not suffer too badly with any of those either while I was waiting for my service to be repaired!

Get Plumber on speed-dial to fix pronto!
I would have a ''bush wash'' so you heat up the water in the kettle, throw in some cold in a bucket and have a good old ''bush wash''!...Takes awhile to wash all over, but who cares, as long as I am clean.
I would then call my insurance company, and see where I stand 'if' my hot water heater is a tad old...They don't fix them if they are.
If not covered by Insurance, save up and get another!
Lots of bush washes to follow....and maybe 3 big showers at my sons place.
I'm so use to going without....makes no diff to me....over the years.
Cry, probably.
Grad a hold of yourself woman!!!....and while your at it, grab a bucket, it's another adventure in life.....LOL

Funnily enough, as my boiler is approaching the end of its life, my hot water system has been breaking down a lot recently! The first time it happened i called out an emergency plumber, he made a temporary fix and showed me how to do it myself. There's no point replacing the boiler as we have just sold our house and the people buying it will almost certainly want to put in a new kitchen, so will want the flexibility of fitting their own boiler in a place that suits them.
I would be annoyed of course but would just power on and accept it as one of life's inconveniences of which there are many.
Wash with water from the kettle whilst
waiting for it to be fixed or replaced.
PS my father used to call these washes 'APC's..work it out!!)

I would call my landlord to fix it

I would call the repair people straight away. Right?

I'd cry and then go shower at my parents.
Check in to a hotel!
Seriously , when our hot water service finaly gave up I purchased an infinity hot water service....best purchase EVER! Endless hot water 24/7 ( hence the name 'Infinity') ,heats instantly when hot tap is turned on , no bulky tank taking up valuable storage space. So tragic when one becomes ecstatic about a plumbing fixture eh? !
I would go to the Gym for a shower and then stress out as to the cost. My hws is electric and where i live you can not replace or install electric hotwater so not having gas the only method of replacement is expensive solar.
I would use the BBQ to boil water and save in vacuum flasks.

My hot water system broke down a few years ago. called plumbers for a quote for replacing same, a big variation in quotes,
While waiting for it to be replaced I just boiled water up in the jug several times and poured it into the bath added cold water and had a bath

Obviously arrange for repairs or replacement.
In the meantime, boil water if needed, and sponge bath. I cold wash the clothes, so that would not be an issue.

When this happened to us as uni students, we showered at the uni gym for the week it took to get it replaced.
I would call someone to fix it!
Call a plumber and buy a new one. Problem solved !!!!
Turn the water off and start mopping the carpet where it had leaked from the laundry whilst my husband rings the plumber to come and replace.
