The lego movie. It was pretty good for a kids movie!
We go nearly every cheap Tuesday.
Last movie was Noah. Two weeks ago.

It was very interesting how they made it, we would give it 7 out of 10.
We still haven't seen the movie, Jonaja, but we saw the boat partly made, sticking out of a hanger, on Cockatoo Island, while the the film was being made. (Well at least I thought it was to be used in Noah!) Was it an Australian made movie?

Not sure Miro....sorry.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Watched it last week with a friend to celebrate mid-semester break. Great movie experience, 10/10!
Tat last movie I saw was Philomena a couple of months ago.
I'd rate it 8 out of 10.
Bryony, I saw that 1 last year, & it was wonderful. I also saw the last 1/2hr of it, on tv 2 nights ago! 9/10.

Ride Along, yet I walked out of the cinema after half an hour. I was bored with it. The movie before that was The Wolf of Wall Street - that was great!
Sherlock Holmes - 2009. Excellent; thoroughly entertaining, visually brilliant, fantastic cast and script.
The Internship. I really like Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.

I go quite often as Im a huge scifi fan, last week I saw "Edge of Tomorrow" with Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, excellent movie. The blockbusters are a real treat on the big screen and often in 3D. Pensioner discounts are a benefit and provide a cheep outing, I drag my Mum along sometimes too.
'The Imitation Game'.....sorry BC missed BA Academy Award.
For Eddie Redmayne to get a BA AA so soon after his career started is astounding!
This is dreadful . . . I can't remember. I know I saw The Avengers and that Star Trek movie with Eric Bana in it at some point. So, probably a long time.

Update: saw 'Lady of the Desert', last Sunday.

First time I'd seen Nicole Kidman in a film.
Not impressed with her acting of Gertrude Bell. She came across, especially in her manner of speech, as very weak, yet she was supposed to be a woman capable of dealing with top British Military, & Civil Service personnel, as well as Arabian Princes, Emirs', & Sheikhs'.

To me, her height, was a distraction, when she was standing with less tall persons', to the point of annoyance for me, even though I'm 5'9" tall!

BUT, the Cinematography was superb!
Worth going to see it for that alone, IMHO.

I enjoyed the music, as well.
The other Actors' & Actresses' were good, with Damian Lewis, outstanding.

Give me David Lean's magnificent 'Lawrence of Arabia', any day!

Saw 'Sully' about a month ago now.
I just loved it, & I thought Tom Hanks was excellent, in the title role.

It was good to see Capt Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger, talking to the actual passengers' his Airmanship, had saved.
They were in the US Airways hangar, next to the Airbus involved in the 'ditching'.

I'm now waiting for it to go to DVD, so I can watch it 'on a loop viewing'!
Donjo, how much are you rating these lovely movies you have just mentioned?
by Miro
Hi miro.....I don't 'rate' movies' per se.
My top two of all time are 'Ben-Hur', & 'Lawrence of Arabia'.
The former won 11 Academy Awards, including TWO for acting in Charlton Heston, & Hugh Griffiths.

The last movie I saw was hacksaw ridge! that was a pretty good movie.
We had a yearly membership to see 'arthouse' movies, at our local art gallery, for only $35! 1 had a choice of different days through the week to go, & 2pm Sundays suited us. Then for no reason, we stopped going! It's now Nov'17, so we haven't seen a movie, at the pictures for about 12 months, with our membership running out in March '17 anyway. There were no adult movies being shown in the school holidays, but sometimes they would show kids movies instead.

I saw 'The Greatest Showman' a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it. I would give it a 9 out of 10.
years ago stopped going as the sound was much too high. maybe it is better nowadays.
just content now to watch a movie on tv
