If I wear bathers (as they are known in the West), I wear a one piece which at my age is the most flattering, or should I say, hides the most.

I used to wear a tiny bikini, then graduated to a bigger one and then a one piece.

However i rarely wear one as do not feel comfortable in one any more as no longer look like a young person!

I also wear a one piece bathing suit.
I wear bikinis and one piece suits - depends on where I am

I wear shorts made up of polyester.
I f I am ever going anywhere near water I simply wear my tee shirt and shorts!!!! I used to wear bikinis when I was younger,as well as a really stunning one piece ! loved to wear under shorts so it looked like a fabulous top!
One piece...when I was young I used to wear a bikini but not now...actually I wish the 'neck to knee' fashion in bathers would come back!! Not likely I am afraid...

Fran, I think our wish is coming true. I was out with a friend just a couple of days ago and saw some very nice bathers that were sort of like a skivvie with bermuda shorts. I think they are called rash suits (?) . . . . help me out, young people . . . am I on the right track?

One piece.
Always felt better esp in the surf.
One piece - feels more secure.

I used to wear tiny bikini and in the mid 60s wore a bikini made of stretchy towelling, blue candy stripes. We bought them at Capri in Sydney. My friend had the same in pink and we were asked to cover up or leave Bondi Beach. Must have been insane.
'Speedo's when I was at School. Had several pairs, as Competitive swimmer, I trained morning, lunchtime, & after-School.
Then went to one-piece, then bikini, then back to one-piece now!
Well, back in '73 it was an array of bikinis. These days I wouldn't appear on the beach for fear of being harpooned or Greenpeace pushing me out to sea.

A full piece, patterned, & I have 3 of them, but the only time I wear any of them, is on an island, if we've on a cruise. I won't even swim in the swimming pools on the cruise ships!

When I was in my mid teens, I had a tiny 'knitted' orange, yellow & black stripped 1, which I still have, some 55 years later. NO, I haven't worn it since 'those olden days'!

I have just recently started to learn swimming and I wonder why I waited so long. It is absolutely amazing to swim. I'm a bit shy (attributing to the culture back in India) to wear a swim suit, so I wear rashie and board shorts.
How are the swimming lessons coming along? So glad your learning. Or have you finished them now? Where are you/were you learning to swim, KanchanN?

Would you like to answer my question to you, KanchanN?
