I used to go to the music shop and get their used posters, or rip pictures of my favourite stars out o the tv hits magazine I used to buy with my pocket money.
I loved saving my pocket money and walking down to the newsagent for the magazines too! Such good memories!
Movie stars! I loved River Phoenix
I was born in 1954.
No pic's or posters in them days! LOL
I have to be totally honest, I really can not even remember and pic's on the walls...Just walls. :)
None. We weren't into that kind of thing when we were younger.
I used to have pictures of animals and Holly Hobbie as a really little girl. Then it became pictures of the latest bands or movie stars or tv stars. I think i had one of The Fonz and Sherbet, but i really cant remember.
I remember my very small bedroom, & The Beatles arrived on the scene. I had The Beatles pictures all over 1 wall & covering my ceiling! I thought my room was the best room ever. I'd stare at the pictures when I went to bed, & when I woke up! Then 1 day, a few years later, (when I was still into The Beatles) my mother took them all, & burnt them in the in incinerator!!! Boy, was I 'mad'! Even 40/45 years later when I asked her why she did that, she replied, "I have no idea" I can't ask her again now, as she has very bad dementia. She was able to remember the past, but now can't remember something that happened 5 minutes ago. At least she can still remember her daughters!
When I was very young I had a small picture in a frame of Ballerinas in Swan Lake. I used to dream of being a Ballerina.
As a teen we collected pictures of bands from TV Week. There was a double size picture in the centre that we used to look forward to.
By the way, my sister and I invented Blue tack at this time. We picked up a lump from a building site - Who knows what they used it for , and after playing with it like plasticine , worked out we could use it to hold our posters up. A few years later Blue tack was put on the market. Sadly we did not get any credit. ;-)
I remember I used to have posters of Sherbet, and John Paul Young on my walls.
To my mum's dismay, posters of Simple Plan, Evermore, and Robert Pattinson...
Bands and some movie stars. I have to confess I was a little bit crazy for East 17 and their lead singer Brian Harvey!
