I like all pavlova toppings however I do not like all pavlovas!
I make one myself and it is not as sweet as some you buy. Particularly I do not put sugar in the cream, and I like having fruit on it which is slight tart mixed with a few sweet ones e.g. strawberries, perhaps blueberries and passionfruit pulp which although sweet, has a tart taste as well.
I also quite like kiwi fruit in small pieces mixed with the sweeter fruits.
These are the main ones I use though I sometimes add some slices of banana to give a different texture.
My pavlovas never seem to last long so the banana does not have a chance to go brown!
