op shop

Do you ever buy at op shops? There are many around, so which is your favourite?

Is it Red Cross, Save the Children, Vinnies, Good Sammy, Salvation Army, or another?

I always go to them, and maybe twice a week.

I do like the new one at St.Martins Village at Seven Hills-Blacktown area.
I travel all over to get to some.I think the Salvos have become a tad expensive.
I found some will sell things that are even broken.
Also the Salvo shop at North Parramatta is very expensive! $60 for a coat, that way quite out of date......made me take a double look.Plus it needed dry-cleaning?........ I think Vinnies are the choice for me.
P.S....You will find variations in a lot of them, as far as pricing.
I like small independent charity shops the best.
I find the big charity shops are very expensive and often the staff are a bit self serving!
I actually like life line stores the best for price! I call regularly at them on the central coast.Iv had some great buys!!
Salvos on Magill Road - so many great finds for excellent and affordable prices!
My doctor's surgery is located across the road from a Salvation Army store, so whenever we're sick we sign in at the doctor's then go across the road for a dig. It's amasing the stuff they have for stupidly cheap prices, and it's nice to know I'm supporting a charity.
I love op shops. Unfortunately some are overpriced these days. My favourite local op shop is the one at our Community House. They have a wide range of clothes and plenty in larger sizes. The prices are good too.
the Salvo's are too over the top!
It has just become a business thing now for them, they have to me lost their main aim...to give a bargain, I found 4 pink drinking glasses for $20.00.
I told them tooooo expensive.
The man said well you know where to go!!! if you don't like the price???

I said that K-Mart had the same in pink, without the (little dots) and they were $1 each.....and he said well go there!
Nice one 'Salvo's' now telling people 'where' they can go....

Lifeline & V de P. I donate tissue paper & clean grocery bags to them, newspapers, as well as other goods when can.
I buy some items there as well. Always happy to do so. They both do so much for the community.
Mine is Save the Children as I work there.

There are two very good op shops at Kenmore in Brisbane's West. Vinnie's and Riding for the Disabled (McIntyre Centre). Neither shop has the musty smell a lot of op shops have and they sell very good quality items at reasonable prices. Because the suburb is an upmarket suburb they also have a fair amount of "designer" clothes which are well worth checking out.
I will have to check them out. They are probably about half an hour from me.

We have a Salvo's, Vinnies, & an in independent 1.When we visit a daughter in Melbourne, she takes us to the Salvo's, Vinnies & the huge Savers stores, in Fitzroy & Footscray & Greensbrough. We buy books & puzzles for our little grand-daughters, & our daughter buys vintage for her self, (not to sell online.)

I enjoy op shops.i tend to prefer the little op shops. I am happy to give them good quality items and I enjoy hunting around for a bargain. I have found that some of the larger ones are getting too expensive. I think sometimes the people pricing have got very little idea. Some brands of clothing are inexpensive new and can be dearer second hand.
As an artist I like to wear aprons to try to protect my clothes.I prefer them in neutral colours so they don't reflect a colour onto my painting confusing my colour choices. I recently found some lovely new black ones and was excited. When I took them to the counter I was disappointed to be told they had been purchased for the staff and put out by mistake. I understood but left feeling deflated.
