Having lived in Asia for 14 years my favourite is sour soup. Chicken or seafood in a clear broth with lemon grass, ginger, chilli, some rice and lots and lots of lemon. So refreshing and filling.
love beef with oyster sauce, love prawns with black been sauce.
love Singapore noodles
love Singapore noodles usually, but don't like people cooking them for me "at home" as it nearly always ends up that they put their own "take" on the recipe. Although it's a pretty relaxed recipe, singapore noodles are "dry" cooked with very little or no sauce. But people here in Aus can't help themselves.
yes, many Australians have a throw back cooking style which is to boil the living daylights out of what ever it is they plan to eat. Its changing but skills in cooking rice and noodles would help. Authentic asian food is delicious, quick to cook and very healthy. smoothered in sauce and cooked for too long and you end up with something quite difference.
