For our first wedding anniversary (which is officially paper), I contacted my husband's college and arranged to have his DPhil certificate sent to me. To do this, I had to obtain the title of his thesis without him finding out, and I had to convince the college I wasn't crazy, neither of which was easy! Then I had the certificate nicely framed before giving it to him.

I have written him love letters, taken him out to dinner somewhere nice and booked nights at a very nice hotel for us. Probably lots of other things that I can't recall as I am a very romantic person.
