Being unwell, aand unable to regulate my body temperature,I have to say the most IMPORTANT is the air conditioner!! But my FAVOURITE item would be my library of antique books,as I can get such immense joy from this collection which numbers well over a thousand individual items!!!!
When I became to ill to continue working, I decided that I would resume my early hobby of collecting and enjoying old and antique books. In many ways, not being able to work any more, turned into a huge blessing for me.I learned the basics of getting around my laptop, and learning how to purchase online. From there I have travelled the most amazing and worthwhile journey, meeting and becoming friends with many like-minded people all over the world. Just because my poor body decided it had had enough of a 'working' life which had brought such immense pleasure to me over so many years, this did not mean that life was over! Not by a long shot!! My mind and my sense of humour has helped me to live extremely happily as I travel these new roads of my life. Oh Yes!!! I am enjoying this journey so very much! Being in a position to simply choose a delightful volume from my extensive collection of books, and having the time to do so at my leisure is a real gift!! As one door shuts,it is up to us to open new ones and explore the fascinating worlds we discover there! If I could wish for anything at all,it would be that others end up as genuinely content with their lot as I am!
Well forgetting all the obvious 'survival' ones eg fridge, air con, bed etc.....definitely my radio, the music (my choice of station) I have on most of the time whenever I am home, keeps me 'up', happy and content with life.
I'd say my freezers as I win a lot of meat so need freezers to store it. I do share with my children and they know they can always help themselves whenever tbey want to. It got that way I had to stop going to the raffles because there was no more room in the freezers.
