What is the best thing your Mother ever told you?

My mother died when I was young, so I don't remember much what she said. However, she did teach me to bake which I have passed on to my girls!

My mother said to me when I was a child - "You'll understand when you have kids yourself".... and what do you know she was right. Sorry mum!

Hard to pick just the one...but I will tell you one she really said a lot.

''If you don't have much in the way of food for dinner, fry and Onion or two!''
Put it with what you have, the smell will make it a winner alone.

My mother also said "you will understand when you have kids" though not sure this is the best thing she told me -I think this was meant in the reverse!

Mum used to always tell me "Que Sera, Sera. Whatever will be, will be."
Years on, I realise she's right; oftentimes we plan so much and pray so hard that we get what we want, but life turns out so different, and for the better too.

I don't have a good one but she did once tell me I was possessed by the devil. We all walked on eggshells around mother . . . she could be verrrrry scary. We think it was the fire and brimstone upbringing she had.
