What are the best homemade Christmas gifts?

Great question! I'll be very interested to see other people's responses to this one. It's great to get ideas for Christmas Hmm... I have recieved some homemade soap, a box decorated with Celtic knotwork, a beautiful knitted jumper and some lovely handmade cards. Hard to pick which I liked best. They were all wonderful. Oh, once a friend wrote a poem for me and framed it. That was pretty cool.

My kids have been given by various clever and generous people hand knitted blankets, quilts a towel with my daughter's name appliqued on it, a toy dog with her name hand stitched on it (these last two were great especially because her name is a bit unusual and you don't see things with it on unless they are made specially), jumpers, vests and a dress with a little mouse ears on it (I'm not describing it very well, trust me it's cute!).

As a teacher I've received a few homemade gifts over the years. I always like receiving food treats as they're great to pull out when unexpected guests drop in. My favourite was a whole box of homemade turkish delight - I'm tempted to give the student back the container they came in to refill for this year!
