What are some very unusual careers for women?

The sky is the limit for women to aspire in the domain of profession in the modern world. With so many options to choose from, it can sometimes take more than a few tries to figure out what you enjoy doing the most and would like to pursue as long-term career. In the course of trials and errors, one may come across some very unusual jobs that exist out there.

These days an unusual career for a woman would be a nun or a missionary. Even a century ago in many places this was a viable vocation for woman who were religious, and in Europe during the middle ages thousands of nuns resided in convents. Today this is practically unheard of although some Western women are choosing non-traditional spiritual paths such as becoming a Buddhist nun or a Hare Krishna renunciate.

What about a female garbage collector, a female solider or a UFC fighter. I didn't even know there were female UFC fighters but my husband told me there are!

Anything out of the ordinary. An astronaut? - the latter would be associated with a guy. Working with meat. Agree, the list can go on. There are some quirky careers out there.

I met someone whose daughter is working as an arts auctioneer on a cruiseliner!! WOW!! As odd as it sounded, I was spell-bound because she gets to travel the world, loves her work and gets paid big bucks for it too.

We met a model who's boyfriend has a garbage collecting business and he drove the truck while she ran along putting the bins in (in the days when we had those smaller bins, not the big wheelie ones.) Her thought process was why pay to go to the gym when she could be paid to do this, and it was a better workout than anything she'd ever done. (toning legs, arms and waist)

There're more than used to be, but female Airline Pilots' are still rare......

I remember when the first female applied to Ansett, & Reg did everything he could to stop her, until the Courts overruled him!
He also called his Air Hostesses' 'old boilers'! Misogynist, much?
