Vitamin D helps in the absorption of calcium. Many people are lacking in vitamin D apparently, which can cause osteoporosis in later life.

Have you ever been tested to check your Vitamin D levels?

I found out I had very thin bones after being brought to hospital after an accident.
It appears that I had been lacking in vitamin D causing Osteoporosis.

I am therefore regularly tested however, had I have known this earlier in life I could have possibly prevented the disease, so I believe this testing is very important.

Many of us wear block out and therefore possibly do not get the required amount of sun for Vitamin D

Last month, so I'm trying to fix the problem.

I was a bit worried too.
I am very lucky that I am not lacking in any of the necessary Vitamins and minerals. I do have checks regularly,as I have a very rare illness and the medication can do all sorts of hideous things to my system.
Haha yes, I am one of them ! I was tested for low level of Vitamin D and had to take capsules. But this was when I was doing night shifts.
We never know about this and wouldn't even feel a difference in health. The only way to find this out before it is too late is to get yourself tested.

Yes checked, yes lacking. My doctor said it was common. It seems Aussies have got so good at 'slip, slop, slap', we no longer get enough sun. Who would have guessed. So that's it then, there's only one thing for it - I shal have to holiday more.
I was tested recently for my levels of a variety of vitamins and minerals and the only thing I am lacking in is iron

No, but I doubt I would be living in Queensland and being very light skinned.

I haven't had them tested no, but I don't have any symptoms of deficiency and I'm pretty sure I get enough sun when I hang washing.
Truly, I've never heard of any one been tested to ascertain the levels of vitamin D within them. I've always been exposed to a healthy dosage of sunlight daily so
I don't think I would be deficient here.

It is a part of regular checkup when they take your blood sample. They check all vitamin levels :)

I've never had my vitamin D level tested before.
One only needs 10 minutes' daily to keep-up Vit D levels.

I get that hanging-out washing, driving, & walking to/from shops.
I have to take 1000mg of D3 per day.
