There are times when you can be a beacon of hope to someone who's going through a stressful situation. On the other hand there are times when you're trying to help someone, and end up in the middle of their crisis.
If you see a colleague sho is unusually quiet at work would you seek to find out what's the matter, or would you leave him/her alone?

That's me, I worry about people a lot.
I'd leave them alone, because I would want to be left alone in tat situation.
Probably best to ask in a quiet moment away from eavesdroppers just in case it's a work related issue - wouldn't want to get in trouble!
I would certainly try to see if I could be of any help. If I can't then I would leave them alone. Then they would know that somebody cared.
I have been told that to ask ''are you o.k.'' is part of helping those in need.
If they don't want it...they will say so...or...you can tell. :)
