If you could paint a picture of anywhere, what would you paint?

I would probably paint scenery from the south of France, or perhaps even Australian scenery with our big gum trees and a river or trickle running through it and dry brown grass!

France would be a more lush picture and possibly with an old derelict castle in the background, or even a scene on the Rhine River in Germany where you can see castles....hard to decide.

Firstly...I can paint,,,,have painted quite a few pictures which I have given away to friends as presents (they assure me they like them!!!?)
Have kept some also, a few up on my walls. Haven't got back to it recently..

Am not a scenery painter though, more impressionistic portraits and can only do females (something Freudian about that I think).

ANYWAY if I COULD paint scenery I would like to paint a seascape.

I'd paint a picture of my ideal lifestyle in about 5 years' time - with a stable job, a stable income, a decent, small group of friend with whom I'd hang after work, and my ideal home.
And then I'd place it in my study so that I can look at it everyday and get motivated to keep chasing my goal.

Local scenery from my home county Warwickshire, as it is beautiful countryside there and I miss it! I am about to move into the Northumberland countryside which is also lovely but it is much wilder and untamed than Warwickshire!

Gayle, Is that the other side of Coober Pedy, towards Oodnadatta? I think I've been there! I used to visit Oodnadatta, in the Septembers, between '99-'02, & I'm pretty sure I was taken out there. It certainly is lovely scenery.

I enjoy so many aspects of nature that I find this a very difficult choice to make!! Maybe I would go up to the top of Castle Hill here in Townsville,and paint the scene as I look out over the water to Magnetic Island.Or I could face the other way and capture Mount Stuart across to Hervey's Range
Then again I'd love to paint the rain forest areas to my north,or simply my beloved garden were my dogs enjoy snoozing each day!!

Everyone CAN paint. it is a process to be taught, just as there is a process to learn how to create a table. We should all paint what we are passionate about, that will show in our art.

I would love to paint a large painting of flamingoes in the wild, in rivers of water, like I've seen on TV, but that's not scenery as such is it? Unfortunately I never inhertered my father's artistic talents!
