How would you stop a nose bleed?

I never really worry about them, I just catch the blood. I reckon they stop on their own without us doing anything.

You keep your head down. The blood rushes down and starts to clot up. Also, use a wet piece of tissue.

I've never really encountered this issue. But I assumed you would use a soft cloth to stop up the bleeding nostril.

stuff the nostrils with tissue and let the affected person hold the head back nose in the air

I have no idea -I have only had one a few weeks ago in hospital.
Had an operation on my eye and was told in rare possibilities, your nose bleeds.

Of course I was sitting up the next day and felt drip, drip, drip and thought my nose was running!
Looked down and bed was covered in blood.
Eventually they brought me a thing -a wad of something, that clipped behind my ear and caught the blood!

And having had an anesthetic I now cannot remember if they told me to do anything!

Lean the person/child forward and apply a cold compress to the back f the neck.
Wiping the blood away until the nose bleed stops.
