I have moved 4 times which is an average of over 7 years on one place!
Last time I moved I had the whole kitchen packed by the removalists and that was wonderful - took so much stress out of moving as the kitchen is always a huge job with me, having dinner sets still from my parents that are 100 years old plus heaps of breakable collections of things!
I totally understand, a lot of people could stay in the one house.
If I could buy back the house I spent the best times as a child I would buy that house.
It still is standing....but at $1.7 million it will never happen.
I dream about it all the time too :( it's not much to look at,
but what it looks at!
Just once. I moved out of my parents home when I was married to the home we have now. We are both very happy here, and can't see the need to move. The next time we move will probably be to a retirement home or nursing home. I cant see the need to go through all the stress and upheaval of a move.
I've been in my house for 47 years now and wouldn't move. Had the kitchen and bathroom remodeled in 1990 which needed being done but other than thinking about changing tiles on toilet floor, am happy with it.
I have been in my house over thirty years and love it, although much in need of updating and renovations. The area has flourished with supermarkets and bunnings built within walking distance and I can walk to hospitals, city, restaurants and parks!, Why would I leave this area, And I would not be able to afford to buy in this area either, so I stay put!
4 times - we have just had a major move 3 months ago after 16.5 years in the one country hamlet. We have moved 3.5 hours away to a bigger country property. I am so sick of packing and unpacking boxes - we had movers but I packed everything myself. Never want to see another box again.
