How many is too many tattoos?

Tattoos are such a personal expression that it is hard for an outsider to say how many is too many. I do think there should be more careful consideration before getting a tattoo. I have know way to many people with tattoo regrets. I really support tattoo artists that have the courage to refuse face and neck tattoos as these are so hard to cover or remove and can really segregate a person.

You're so right - as long as they're not really out there and are still acceptable in your professional life, it's all good :-)

More than the wearer (owner?) of the tattoos is comfortable with is too many. It's a case by case thing. It depends on the individual, how they dress and where the tattoos are (if you have full sleeves but can cover them with a business shirt if you need to it's a non issue) as well as what they do for a living or plan to do. If you plan on working in a very conservative field it's probably best not to have visible tattoos, though that is slowly changing.

I knew a sixteen year old who had eight tattoos and I thought she'd gotten too many too quickly given her age. Never mind that it's illegal for under eighteens, I could maybe see some people being mature enough to choose a tattoo they wouldn't regret at that age, but eight is rushing things more than a little, especially if you just choose designs from flash without much thought as to what it means instead of getting something that is actually important to you personally.

Me personally, I would say one. Not a big fan of tattoos. Your interests and flair for design changes. The pain would be unbearable. Getting my eyebrows waxed at the beautician is painful enough.

It's really not that bad. But then, I have had two babies, so I suppose it's all relative.

One is enough.

As many as you like. what you do with your skin is totally up to you. No one should be able to tell you how many tattoos is too many. Just because someone else may think they are in the wrong place. or you have too many that is their problem not yours.
