I like rice in any form, even with a little butter drizzled over it. All of the pics look yummy. Of course rice pudding is scrummy too. ^_^
I use it with a half bag of loose leaf greens, a little chopped veg and one or two chopped up cooked tiny potatoes mixed all together, with herbs and lovely extra virgin oil.
Also I use it with tomatoes and sometimes a little meat mixed in through....Wonderful :)
I like to mix my rice in when it's a main meal but my favourite rice dish is a dessert of boiled rice with milk and sugar. My Mother used to make it when we were kids.
Oh Gayle, my mum did exactly the same thing. It was a sweet treat for us and up until the day mum passed away in her 90's, she still enjoyed the occasional bowl.
I think it really depends on what the meal is. With a stir fry I put the meal on top of the rice. I make a bolognaise risotto and a beef risotto so the rice is mixed in as part of the meal. As a general rule, the food goes on top of the rice .
On the side
Gives me greater control as to how much I eat
I like the rice under my food.
I don't really mind...especially when I'm eating at home. By the time I finish cooking I'm usually starving, so it doesn't stay on the plate very long!
Just on the side, usually messy!
Love rice, it's just so good.
One of my fave desserts is Rice Pudding. My Mum used to do it sometimes with pineapple in it.
Yum yum!
I dislike it placed on the plate in a shaped mould,
it is usually cold cannot understand why.
I cook with rice regularly but my favourite is home made creamed rice or baked rice pudding. Yum yum
Under the meal if there is natural gravy
I don't care much…………………..as long as it is HOT 1
With the main meal served on top of the rice, e.g; a curry.
