We saw a movie last week that used the "f-bomb" constantly and I couldn't really see the need. It didn't make the movie any better!

How do you feel about the "f-bomb" being used so much in the movies?

I have not been to the movies in such a long time for this very reason. I'll see a trailer of something that looks then at the end they say rated-R. Bummer.

As long as it's not in kids' movies I don't care. In fact, in some genres it sounds a bit odd if there is no swearing because it's not reflective of the real world (imagine a cop show where they just say "fudge").
Useless swearing bothers me, but when it fits a character and fits the theme of a movie, then I'm okay with it.
I agree!
I Hate it...simple.

If they can't make a movie without that word, then your not very good at the Art.
I'm with Damien. I don't like it when swearing is used willy nilly. It has to serve a purpose.

It depends how it's used. Does it add to the character development and plot or is it just for shock value? If it's for shock value I would roll my eyes about it, but there are many instances where it is a significant part of the character so it's ok.

In this case it definitely suited the character and added to the intense nature of the movie - "Whiplash". If you see it you'll understand why. It's when it's used just for the sake of it that I get annoyed.
I agree. The question brought to mind the character Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad. Swearing is his character

I hardly ever go the movies. One of the last times I went to watch a PG13 movie I heard the F bomb being dropped. And it was the only one. As far as I can see it could just as well be left of the script.

This made me very uncomfortable as I don't watch these types of movies in private so I hate to have to listen to it in public.
