He was the best friend of my girlfriend's boyfriend. We were introduced when we were 16 and 17 respectively. I thought he was a bit of a smart-arse but we were married for 49 years before he died so he obviously had something going for him! He was great - funny, kind, capable, loving, helpful and organised. He was no angel but he was my best friend and lover for all of the 49 years - I miss him so much now.
