Have you visited Tasmania?

I went to Tasmania with my mother in the holidays after I did Matric (year 12). That is 42 years ago now.

I loved it and have happy memories of our time there. I remember how cool it was there in January after the heat of SA. Mum and I laughed because the locals were saying it was so hot and we were debating whether it was warm enough to go for a swim. I loved Hobart and remember the boxes of flowers on the platforms at the railway station there. I think there were only 4 platforms. I loved Cat and Fiddle Square.

The gum trees near our motel smelt lovely and fresh after the rain. The motel staff were friendly and we had a great time.

I went to Tasmania over 30 years ago and so remember little about it. I recall being awed by Hobart but strangely none of the detail that impressed me so much.

YES - many times, and I lived there for 5 years! My mother still lives there, we were there last week!!

I sure want to go, but find it very hard to let people spoil me.

We travelled through Tasmania in the autumn season. It was just incredibly beautiful - we could compare it to the south island of nz., which is similar - so glad you enjoyed it..!

Did a West Coast Bus Tour in the '90's, & really loved & enjoyed it to the nth degree!
I think the wild NW Cape area was my favourite part!
Will try & get back & 'do' the East Coast!

I have been on a wonderful trip to Tasmania. The scenery was truly wonderful; the towns were great to see - it reminded me of England. Truly wonderful

Yes, I went there for a few months when I left high school and then spent a family holiday there several years ago.

Yes I have but was involved in racing at the time so spent almost all of it at the track or in a pub afterwards. It's on my list to visit for a holiday and to explore the history of the Isle.

I would love to see tasmania. I've heard so much about it and the photos look amazing. The weather would suit me as I don't like the heat but was told it gets very humid there. Ive always wanted to see the northern lights. The southern lights would be just as good. My dream trip

We've only been there for or 3 days, during 2 cruises, right around Australia, It was a day in Burnie, Hobart, Port Arthur. I keep asking my husband if we can do a trip around Tassie. He's thinking about it! It would have to be after we buy a new car though. We would be able to stay with a daughter in Melbourne, before & after Tasmania! A family of 3 from our suburb, went their for a holiday, & didn't come home again. I don't know who packed up all their belongings & sold their house in NSW for them! Our next door neighbours moved to the next suburb for a year or two, (their kids had already left home,) then they moved to Tasmania. I can't wait to go! Our cruise Tasmanian visits were the shortest time I'd spent in any Australian state!
