The crowded shops at christmas time are enough to make even the calmest person into a christmas grinch. Do you start shopping early or do you do it closer to christmas and just put up with the overcrowding?

Umm?
maybe.
On the Internet, so I can be well prepared, as I get older
and more tired....just can't handle shopping at Christmas now.
If it was just me I wouldn't mind so much, but dragging 4 kids through the shops at xmas is hard work! Mind you, I prefer to avoid the crowds where I can ...

I'm planning to start mine next week. This year I'm going to do my list early and steer well clear of the shops in the last week before
Christmas.
I started in the July sales! I did three massive lay-bys for the kids and paid them off. We have a shed full of xmas presents now and we're ready to go! it takes the pressure off because xmas lunch is always a big expense, and this year we are saving our flybys points to get coles vouchers towards that, and we'll have more money because the presents are taken care of. It means we'll have more money to take a holiday in the new year! And the holiday is the adult xmas present.
I don't really do Christmas Shopping. Anytime during the year if I find something someone will like, I buy it for them and wrap it up for Christmas.
Not yet.

We don't really do much Christmas shopping. I generally buy a few small things for my family and a couple of little things for the kids depending on what they need. I will probably send gifts off to the in-laws this year - but they didn't get presents last year as we travelled to visit them. I refuse to even contemplate Christmas until the end of November though!
We don't celebrate Christmas, so I am fortunate not to need to do Christmas shopping. Nevertheless, I do have to do some shopping, and I have some toy shopping to do during December. Even though I don't like crowds, I will still be going to Target and ToysRUS this month.

Like Bryony, I tend to shop during the year when I see something that I think family or a friend would like and just buy it and put it away for Christmas. Have always done this as I like to think about what to buy for each person.
I shop all year starting in January each year so I don't have any pressure in December. Only problem is it takes me so long to wrap everything and I also buy the wrapping paper after Christmas as well when its on sale along with bob bons.
