A friend invited me over for afternoon tea over the weekend, and I have to say it one of the best afternoon teas I've had. I've never thought of hosting an afternoon tea, but it's a wonderful idea - have you ever played host?

Yes, I love hosting afternoon teas, particularly a high tea. I love to bake so choosing yummy recipes is fun. But the best part is using my lovely china tea sets!
Isn't it wonderful?! I love it! And you're completely right - finally being able to use the pretty china tea sets you have, is an absolute joy!

Yes, and I've enjoyed it. I don't have a china set or anything special but I love baking all the different sweet and savoury selections. In the past I've done it as a treat for Mother's Day and my Dads birthday. The favourite item always seems to be lemonade scones.
Aw that sounds really lovely! Well done you, I love it too!
Yes, at my old job we had a high tea afternoon complete with little cucumber sandwiches and tiny cakes. Everybody dressed up for the ocassion and we had a great time.
That sounds like a great work initiative! Dressing up too! If only my work place did the same...
I did once, and it was lovely.
I recommend it to everyone...great way to spend time with friends, and family.
Great idea for Mothers Day! coming soon.
My daughter in law is doing just that for myself, and her mother.
We will have a great day!
Even pre- wedding girls day.
Oh how lovely!
No but I would like to sometime.
It's nice .good food, good company, and a hostess that has taken the time to make everything nice makes it add up to a special experience.
No, but attend them regularly at a Military Club, of which I'm a 'Senior' Member (35 yrs or more continuous M'ship').

It's always a delightful way to chat with other like-minded Ladies', & catch-up with a few friends' as well.
The food is always scrumptiously fresh, with hot tea or coffee.

Personally, had friends' to Dinner, at home. Loved doing that, & many a good night was had by all at our place!

I'd start trawling through my much loved Recipe Books at a month out, & go from there.
We always tried to have guests with a common interest, that way conversation flowed well.

Ah, those were the days! Sadly, long gone, & not to be repeated.
