A great way to express your opinion about matters in current affairs or of personal concerns is to write letters to the editor, whether in a community paper or a national.
Have you ever sent a letter to a newspaper regarding something which you felt strongly about? Was it published?
Yes and it was published in our local paper. It was just before they started putting fluoride into the Brisbane water and I was really against it as I think many people just didn't know the truth about this poison. I was hoping by providing a little more information for people, it would help them be more informed about their health so I thought it was important.
I have written letters to the newspapers several times and they have been published each time. I also had two interviews published with the photo of our family.
I also received a beautiful pen as a gift for "letter of the day" in The Age.
I've written to Star Trek Magazine before when invited to share my memories of certain episodes, and they were published, but I have never written in to a newspaper about an issue that concerns me.
I did once to a local newspaper about speeding in a school zone. It was not published...but I think mine was one of many. There was an outcome - speed bumps! ;)

Yes I have...and they have been published
It is important to be able to express what 'we sometimes feel'' needs to be said.
Freedom of Speech, and in a public domain......wonderful :)
Yes, I have and it was published. I wrote into a newspaper during World Youth Day in Sydney. I was really disheartened to read so many complaints from Sydneysiders about the inconvenience the event had caused, so I told them to pull up their socks and show the pilgrims the hospitality for which Australians are known.
