I've many times heard men saying that women will always try to get them to change habits once they settle in.

Have you ever worked constantly to get your partner to change any habits? Or would you rather seek someone possessing the "complete package"?

I've being trying to get my husband to have more profitable conversation as he goes out early and comes home late in the night. He's tired at the end of the day and is unwilling talk. The fact is you can't change anyone who doesn't want to be changed. Sometimes people often see the error of their ways when they see divorce on the horizon.
Not that I'm seeking a divorce.

My husband sniffs rather than blowing his nose. He was taught to do that as a toddler and no-one has ever told him just how disgusting it is until I came along. I've also pointed out that quite apart from being gross, it damages his nose lining and sinuses but a lifelong unconscious habit like that is hard to break. He has reduced the amount of sniffing but still does it, after 10 years of nagging from me.
That would make me CRAZZZZY!!!!!

I haven't got a partner.
Yes, and God bless him, he's done it. I'm so proud of him.

P.S. Nobody has the 'complete package. LOL!

His burping used to make me want to choke him, but I figured that was about me not him, so I now applaud when he does a burp and it doesn't make me mad anymore!
I can hardly find a fault with my wife. But once I call her out on a bad habit she generally makes the effort to change.

Yes, I'm sure I did when I had a partner.

I think it is human nature to try to some degree to get rid of bad habits in someone else.

It generally has not worked for me however.
Also the partner is "as is" so to speak, so I no longer believe in trying to change people as you may not like what he or she becomes if you did!
