Have you ever seen a live wombat in the wild?

I have seen a wombat in the wild. They are usually very lovely. Just go to Wilsons Promontory and you will see plenty of them wandering about!

I'll keep that in mind if we get down that way again.

I can't think of any particular instance, but I'm sure I have at some time as I've seen most of our native animals in the wild when I've been travelling. They're very, very shy, so that's why we don't see them as much as roos and other wildlife. They're also very slow, which is why they're so vulnerable to getting run over by motor vehicles.

That is so sad they were all dead.I think because they are so slow,
poor wombats, that would make me cry to see them all dead.

It was awful! At one spot I spotted a wombat on the side of the road. And I thought it was alive but when we stopped to look at it, the poor thing wasn't alive. I did she'd a tear or two over that little fella - so sad and they're my favourite Aussie animal!

No, but my husband accidently killed one. It couldn't have been avoided without the truck rolling.

Yes, only once, walking on the roadside in the Dandenong Ranges in melbourne. We stopped and took a photo. This was about 8 years ago. Never again since then.
