Have you ever made cake mix and then just eaten it instead of baking the cake?

I used to all the time when I was a child, but rarely do it these days, as I'm so busy with other stuff. I'm trying to avoid too much sugar so there's not a lot of cakes at our place at all...cooked or not. I remember it was a real treat, though, when my Mum let me scrape the bowl...I can understand that some people would be tempted!
Hahah yes, I have! It was batter for banana bread - such a beautiful mess!
No. As much as I love eating cake mix, I think it would just be a waste of cake. Besides, too much cake mix makes me sick.

I have jusr tasted the batter before making the cake.
I love cake mix, and although I have never made a batch and just eaten the mix, I have felt sorely tempted. hen making cup cakes, however, I sometimes leave more 'leftovers' than can strictly be considered leftovers, for additional bowl licking.
I do this as well!
Absolutely. I actually prefer it as batter than cooked. But now I'm gluten free, not so much. GF cake batter is rather gross.
No. As my Nana used to say, it will give you worms.
It will not. Salmonella perhaps.
How else was Nana going to keep my fingers out of the bowl? I would have thought salmonella was a fish that you catch with worms. She used to say the same about raw pastry.

OMG who would do that!? If you want to eat it before it's baked you should ANZAC biscuits.
No, that is disgusting!
I LOVE to lick the dish but to eat the whole cake, I would be sick and I can eat a lot of sweets!

It would be lovely however, I am just too weight conscious, and health conscious to do this.

No, but always enjoyed 'licking the bowl', once mixture into baking tin.

This question reminds me of a family whose son had Praeder-Willi Syndrome. He would eat ANYTHING, & that included dry flour. All kitchen cupboards & 'fridge had to be padlocked. Poor boy, he died at 16.
