Have you ever handled a snake?

I am allways handling snakes, we have chooks and carpet snakes are very fond of them, you just go in grab them behind the head then grab the body really quickly, the big ones can get a VERY tight grip on your arm if they throw a coil around. Also have had to catch and relocate a few venomous ones, very different and cautious approach to the browns.

I have handled a snake. She was only little though, and belonged to a boyfriend I had in my final year at school. I don't think she liked me much.

No, I never have and I'm sure I never will. They just creep me out. When I was younger and visiting Thailand people were having their photo with snakes draped around their neck but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

When I was a child, went to a Sanctuary often, & enjoyed holding/cuddling any animal I could. Their handler was ALWAYS with me, so I had no fear.

No I’ve never held a snake, but we’ve seen 4 or 5 of them around our yard, over the years.

I love snakes and lizards - maybe my affinity is because I have such scaly skin myself!! I wish I felt as smooth and lovely as they do though.
I love the way you feel their muscles undulate as they slither across you. It's amazing method of movement. I'd be wary of one I met in the grass however.

I'm pretty chill with most living things...except reptiles. For no rational reason, they scare the crap out of me. I have never handled a snake, and the thought of having one near me makes my chest tighten and I have trouble sucking in breath. Even if I know it doesn't bite or constrict, it doesn't matter. My reaction is the same.

I have had to deal with quite a few snakes in my lifetime, but thankfully never had to handle any of them.

Yes, I have no particular fear of snakes. I don't go walking up to them in the wild, however. When we go bush walking everybody else is looking at the ground for snakes and I am looking up for spider webs. *shudder*

I can't stand the idea of being near one. My brother and his mates used to catch them years ago in their late teens and onwards and bring them home. One of his mates used to keep them in the family bath tub. My brother had pet ones for years which used to live in the house in heat controlled cases and he'd happily let them out regularly so guess who never visited?

I have worked with a lot of snakes, and I have handled them pretty easily but handling snakes is something that can become very tiring.
