Have you ever had a creepy neighbor? Have you had a neighbor that made you uncomfortable in one way or another that you don't even want to go over to say "hi"?

Yes, as a child there was a weird old guy who used to peek through the fence cracks at me when I played outside. Creepy!
Oh yes!
Indeed I have.
The best way to fix it ''is'' to go over and say Hi!
I did.
What happened next, jonaj?

Well, the neighbour was still creepy, but I made the first move, so that means ''you don't scare me''.!!
It puts them off balance, they know what they are.

No, but my friend did. When we were little, we used to spy on him and take notes on his 'weird' behaviour. One day, we were looking at his house from her window only to notice him staring back at us! Scary!

What eventually happened to him?

I have no idea. We lost interest in keeping track.

Not that I've noticed... But maybe they're creepy but discrete.
No, thank heavens!
Can't think of any creepy neighbours, but we've had loud neighbours, and it's very annoying.
Not creepy, but not friendly, often.

Yep. An older retired couple lived next door & the fence between our two properties was a low one so they could see into our backyard. We did the neighbourly thing & had them over for drinks one evening. The guy then asked me in the conversation " why didn't I hang my underwear on the washing line to dry" which was of course in the backyard. I was shocked but laughed it off & said why the hell did he want to know & why was he looking. I used to hang underwear to dry in the laundry under the house - now I know my instincts were right and it was for a good reason. He used to sit in a room underneath the house & watch TV all day & I always felt he was watching whatever we did whenever we were in the backyard. We got on fine with them (you have to make an effort with neighbours) but I always felt he was a dirty old man with some of his comments. Especially when he was trying to touch up a few of the ladies at my 40th birthday party we held in the same backyard. We sold the property 5 years ago & I notice the new owners have put up a 6 foot fence hahaha.
I had creepy neighbors that behaved like criminals. They come in late at nights, speak very loudly on their cell phones about money matters, they walk around half dressed in their yard and they have arguments with prostitutes in the early morning.

I'm not the least bit enthused to meet neighbors like these.
When I was a kid, the lady next door always rushed to her front verandah to look through the louvres' at us driving into or out of our property.
If we had the opportunity, we'd wave to her, which sent her scurrying back inside! Weirdo!

My father & her husband, got on well. He used to give us eggs, intermittently, as they had chooks down the back of their 40 perch block. That was the normal block of land in the '50's.
One day, they invited us in for arvo tea, & strangely enough, she actually put on a 'good spread'.
They'd two sons' who were married, & they were always good & kind to me. They loved 'tinkering' with cars, & would come over to their family home to do so. There was an above ground 'hoist' to put a car on, under their house. They used to let me watch & they told me what was being fixed.

When I got married, my m/i/l used to look out from her verandah louvres', too. Must've been a 'thing' with women born during WWI, to be 'sticky beaks'. Neither of these women EVER worked in a paid job.

My Mother never did that at all. She was too busy, earning a living in their business with Dad, to keep my sister & I fed, clothed & educated.
