Oh yes...I love it! When I go for longer walks, especially in more isolated areas, I'll always travel in a group (or at least with my husband), for safety. However, Í sometimes do shorter walks alone, especially if it's a safe area, and more people are around.
When I was younger I was much braver. At 18, I did half the Tasmanian overland trail (Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair) all be myself, with no problems. It was in the days before you had to book and register for the walk! Looking back, it was a pretty dangerous thing to do, though, as the weather there is so extreme and changeable.
