We used to go quite regularly when I was younger and still with my first husband, the father of my children.
I remember once we went with another couple and had such a good time, but I am very fussy and would not let my children play in mud, and my friend told them they could and it was probably the first time they did....and had a wonderful time -my friend cleaned them up afterwards! Here comes that bit of oCD again.
I haven't stayed in a caravan but I did have a lovely holiday on a canal barge once and would like to do that again. I imagine a caravan holiday is similar just a bit more static.
I am thinking about taking my son to some music festivals next summer and have wondered about getting a camper van for that, rather than camping in a tent.
No, I've never been travelling in a caravan. The closet I've got to the inside of 1 was when someone we know showed me inside there 1, as I was walking past their house 1 day. It was lovely. It had a toilet AND a separate room for the shower! We did spent 1 night in a 1960's looking 1 though, in a caravan park for a school reunion. Help! Talk about old looking. I thought I was going to have creepy crawlies over me all night! And the loo & shower were certainly NOT inside the van either! For the next school reunion, 10 years later, we stayed in a cabin in another caravan park. That was better!
